“Graphix Explosion uses three Fuji Xerox digital presses for over 90 per cent of its production. Digital has proven to be faster, cheaper and better. It’s been easy to retrain our staff to use the digital presses.”
– Shane Devlin, Graphix Explosion
Graphix Explosion’s latest acquisition, PublishMe offers a niche print service dedicated to meeting the needs of New Zealand’s growing community of self-publishing writers. The business has offices in New Plymouth and Hawera, South Taranaki, and 13 full-time staff.
Plans for PublishMe included increasing its capacity and cost effectiveness but PublishMe had only two ageing digital presses, which could not deliver the quality Graphix Explosions’ customers expected so the Devlins invested, in a leasing arrangement, in two Versant 2100 digital SRA3 colour presses from Fuji Xerox.
The sheet-fed Versant 2100 offers coated paper handling, heavyweight media support, and feeding and finishing options. It delivers 2400 x 2400dpi and can duplex on stocks ranging from 52-350gsm.
- Increased performance in service
- Quicker turnaround times, especially for proofs
- Higher quality – it has side lined two of its offset presses
- 20 per cent growth in PublishMe business
- Clients remain loyal to the company
